Meet Janel

Q: What is the last thing you bought yourself?

The last thing I ordered was black truffle salt through Amazon. Truffle salt is delicious and makes the blandest dishes exciting. Truffle is a mushroom that only grows at certain times of year and is hard to find, therefore it’s expensive. However, it is worth every dollar!

Q: What is your hometown, and what do you love about it?

I’m from Colorado Springs, Colorado, born at the U.S. Air Force Academy. The best part about my hometown is the beautiful mountain landscape. Colorado Springs is in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, and the mountains are right in everyone’s back yards. Also, there are five military bases there and people are always coming and going. There are always new people to meet.

Q: What is your favorite holiday?

My favorite holiday is Halloween. I love dressing up and pretending to be someone else for the day. I love thinking of creative, out-of-the-box costumes and coordinating with friends. I also enjoy carving pumpkins and baking the seeds.

Q: What is your favorite restaurant in Atlanta?

Poor Calvin’s is my favorite restaurant in Atlanta. It’s Asian Fusion, and everything I’ve had there is amazing. Their pineapple dipping sauce is the absolute best! The drinks at Poor Calvin’s are just as amazing as the food. Some drinks are even set on fire while being made.
